It's Festival Season

With several amazing festivals under our belt already this summer, here's a few more to go before the summer closes out.

desiderata

This is going to be one cool festival for sure.  Desiderata, located in Bainbridge, NY, just about an hour and half from Ithaca, will boast a unique festival style lineup of truly deep grooves and electronic music.  Infected Mushroom is coming all the way from Israel to help headline this festival, as well as a set from The Chemical Brothers, too.  In fact, lots of acts will be traveling from across the globe for this one: all the way from Mexico, Belgium, Denmark, and more.  You can see the whole lineup here.  We're also pretty excited for U-Melt, big favorites in Ithaca, and Progress, too.  What makes this festival really cool is the message behind it.  It's not the type of festival just clamoring for your money all weekend, but rather a celebration of a different lifestyle and enjoying life.  We're hoping we can cover the festival and that we see you there too!

Tickets are available right here!

This year marks the 10th annual Musefest, August 28-30th!  The festival takes place at Newhart's Lodge in Newfield, a truly beautiful piece of land.  The festival has seen some ups and downs, but last year's festival was definitely the best one to date, and this year's is really shaping up nicely as well.  Check out this locally infused lineup:

Jsan & The Analogue Sons, Thousands of One, Rubblebucket Orchestra, Blue Sky Mission Club, Revision, Jimkata, Mutron Warriors, BuzzUniverse, Natural Breakdown, Second Class Citizens, I Yahn I Arkestra, Family Dawgz, Unexplained Bacon, The Spelunkers, Technicolor Trailer Park, Alan Rose, Nate and Kate, 12 oz Muzzle & many more!

This Week's Honorary Ithacan is...

Gary Jules!

Gary Jules

After a crazy weekend at Grassroots, it'll be nice to take things to a more somber state as we welcome yet another wonderful performer to our humble city, Gary Jules.  Gary is best known for his effortless vocal abilities and a natural voice that will draw you in and make you forget you're even seeing a live show.  He leaped to fame with his cover of "Mad World" in the film Donnie Darko and has been touring nationally and swooning crowds ever since.

Gary Jules will be playing with local favorites The Sutras and White Hot at Castaways this Saturday, July 25th at 9 PM.  Plug in and Go!

Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning

It is about that time for a little Spring cleaning.  We hope you've noticed that we've been tidying a few things up here and there, playing catchup, and also slowly unrolling a similar, but slightly smoother layout.  We hope Spring finds you well, and we'd love to hear your general thoughts and opinions on how we're doing, and what you think of the new layout/design.  It's simple, send us an email just by filling out our easy contact form.  Thanks in advance for your time!  ~IM.com

Lots of New Photos

We've got some new photos you should check out.  As a few person operation, there's an awful lot to cover in this city, which is why we're constantly expanding to get new, enthusiastic people involved.  We're honored to welcome our newest member to the team, Photographer David Korman!  We met David not terrible long ago upon admiring some of his shots of local bands, and a few conversations later found us agreed that we're working towards the same goal, to encourage more people to get out and enjoy the wonderful music scene Ithaca has to offer.  David's pictures are truly excellent, and he's got a serious future in photography. We'll be constantly adding new photos from local shows, so please check out media section to get a taste of what's out there!
