3 Great Choices, 1 Friday Night...
Okay, so this Friday night marks the beginning of May, and there's so much to do.
To get things started, for dinner at least, we have to mention that our good friends at Ithaca Beer will be pairing their delicious beers with homemade sausage in an event they call 'Uno De Mayo' and not to distract from music related events, but you can read all about it here. Yum.
But that leads us to our main point. There are some freaking awesome shows this Friday night, and we know you can't make all of them, so we invite you to tell us which one you're most excited about.
Here are your options:
Rubblebucket Orchestra - Featuring ex-members of JBB and quite arguably the nastiest horn section to come to Ithaca in a long time, they will be playing at Castaways Friday night with local super-group, Solstice. These nasty cats include members from Thousands of One, Mutron Warriors, Food Clothes and Shelter and more. Sick.
Revision will be playing at Funk and Waffles with Phil Smo and Ahnest. You can get down to some great, local Ithaca funk-rock, groove out with a waffle, and, who knows, maybe do the D-BBQ thang before hand? As they say at Funk and Waffles, 'Eat Up, Get Down'!
Scythian, 2007 Grassroots Phenoms who melted minds with their uber-high energy celtic/immigrant music stylings, will be playing at The Rongovian Embassy for a nice change of pace. These boys know how to throw a serious party, and if your hands are too busy for clapping, your feet will be doing the work for them.
The choice is yours, and yours alone!

Pajamara
Break out your PJs, but please button up the butt flap.
Those Particular Individuals!, here-in referred to as TPI!, are simply put the quirkiest, most awesomely fun, nerd-rock band in Ithaca. We've seen'em a couple of times here and there and have always had a good time, but how could we not? Kazoos, Chinese buffet, ugly sweatervests? Well it gets better, because on Saturday, May 9th, TPI! will be hosting their first annual PAJAMARAMA blowout and you're invited!
Those who attend the show in PJs will get a discount on admission, and, of course, make sure to bring your pillow for the pillow fight set break! You can go RSVP at TPI!'s Facebook Site for info on how to GET IN FREE, get FREE TPI! t-shirts and trucker hats, and tons more cool stuff...
Also, earlier in the day, don't forget to support Pineapple's 2009 Cruise for Crohn's and Colitis. This boat cruise will feature music from Revision, and your kind donation will provide you with tasty treats and eats. All of the information on how you can help is right here.
Remix!

It's a massive John Brown's Body remix on so many levels.
Level 1: JBB has just released a new album called Re-Amplify featuring remixes from Gym Class Heroes, Blue King Brown, and more. This is kinda old news at this point, but if you haven't heard it, click here to get a taste.
Level 2: You can make your own remix of the JBB tune 'Zion Triad' simply by clicking here, showing off your skills, and sharing with the world. Super cool, give it a shot!
Level 3: For the first time in nearly 3 years, the legend himself, Mr. Kevin Kinsella, will be reuniting for a few tunes out at some of the Cali gigs, San Francisco, Hollywood, and Solana Beach next month, to be specific. Sadly, many of us won't be able to just willy-nilly hop a flight to Cali, but JBB does have a homecoming date on April 24th at Castaways in Ithaca, and if you cross your dub fingers tight enough, maybe we'll get lucky and Kev will jump up and do what he does best.
Remixing yet?
New Neighbors In-Store Performance

We're still getting used to calling them New Neighbors, but we all still remember them as IY for the time being. Some of our favorite friends and extremely talented musicians will be doing an in-store performance at McNeil Music, a fabulous music store up in the Triphammer Mall. The guys will be playing a special set at 7:00 PM sharp to get the good vibes going. This will be a mini-taste of what you can catch Saturday night, the 18th, at The Chapter House, where New Neighbors will amaze you right out of your dancing shoes. We recommend bringing 2 pairs, personally. In addition, Your Cousins, the off-sprung band from Somatic Umbra, will be opening up this performance. Their EP is wonderful, unique, and extremely impressive. Get a taste here. Even more music goodness, yes more, comes from Mr. Chris Frank, the gentleman pictured above, as he has recently released his Spring EP for free download. We got ahold the day it came out, and it's awesome.
Here's your taste, we like this one, it's called 'The Weights'
See you at the show ;-)
Um, bring your neighbors and cousins too...
Revision CD Release Party

Revision is back with another new record, erm records, for you to enjoy. Their last album, Amplification, gave people all the funk rock they could handle, and it started to shed light on another side of Revision that is a bit softer and more mellowed out. With their new double-disc record, aptly titled Jekyl/Hyde, you're going to see two very different sides of one kick-ass band. 8 songs all funk-instrumental
